Justification for Poster

The Farm to Table poster was inspired by an event my mother held one year. I used the natural colors one thinks of when envisioning a farm, green for the background and reds, browns, and yellows in the photographs. I gave all of the images and large font a dropshadow to link them together, so when the viewer saw it, the photos would appear more cohesive. In addition, I included a small about of information that would intrigue the audience to support local produce, informing them of the process and what to expect. Also, I provided the organization that sponsors Farm to Table and their contact information so viewers interested in the concept can easily call or visit their website. Overall, I believe that the poster's design can be read easily at a distance and grab people walking thier attention with it's attractive and organized layout and identifiable theme.

Justification for Advertisement

To promote my Farm To Table Business I created an invitation for one of their events, Dinner on the Farm. Because it would be a small event, I chose a cursive font to make the event appear elegant, classy and personal. The pictures on the side give the reader examples of previous dinners at different locations and show them what to expect and to encourage them that the Dinner on the Farm would be a very unique experience. The photos' colors play off of the other colors in the layout so the audience can read cohesively.Furthermore, I included all the important information for the event, how much it would cost per person and the farm it would be held at. The event would give the customers a closer relationship between them and where their food comes from and encourage their support in local agriculture along with the importance of fresh food in a healthy lifestyle.

Justification for Music CD Cover

I created a CD cover for an actual friend and used the style of his music to inspire my design. His music is very mellow and relaxing so I included a very relaxing photograph of the ocean for the front cover. In addition, I made sure that the photo I used was black and white so that it would the end product after printing would still look good and have the same calming effect. On the back cover I wanted to make ensure that the design would not look too feminine so i included multiple pictures of nature that surround one larger picture of the artist so that he would still stand out. I included an inner glowing effect on all the pictures and white borders so that they would flow together in the layout better. Above and below the line of pictures are faded lines of script music notes that blend into the background and add an extra effect. Overall I feel that my design effectively appeals to the artist's taste that I made it for.
